Voice expert believes Haggard contacted male escort (Voice Mail Transcripts)

DENVER - A nationally known voice recognition expert says he believes voice mails left for a male escort are from a pastor in Colorado Springs.

(snip)

Jones provided two voice messages to 9NEWS he claims are Haggard calling him.

The voice mails for from a man who calls himself "Art."

It should be noted Haggard's middle name is Arthur.

The first voice message, left on August 4 at 2:18 p.m., says:

"Hi Mike, this is Art. Hey, I was just calling to see if we could get any more. Either $100 or $200 supply. And I could pick it up really anytime I could get it tomorrow or we could wait till next week sometime and so I also wanted to get your address. I could send you some money for inventory but that's probably not working, so if you have it then go ahead and get what you can and I may buzz up there later today, but I doubt your schedule would allow that unless you have some in the house. Okay, I'll check in with you later. Thanks a lot, bye."

The second voice message, left on August 4 at 5:10 p.m., says:

"Hi Mike, this is Art, I am here in Denver and sorry that I missed you. But as I said, if you want to go ahead and get the stuff, then that would be great. And I'll get it sometime next week or the week after or whenever. I will call though you early next week to see what's most convenient for you. Okay? Thanks a lot, bye."

Jones claims Art is referring to methamphetamine in the messages.

1. Arthur is a hypocrit
profiteering and power mongering on the suffering of his brothers.

Satan is pleased, I'm sure.

7. I dunno. There are a billion different scenarios where they both touched the same bill.
And we are assuming anyone could find such a bill...which is probably just as unlikely.

4. Hmmm
I have zero problem thinking that this story could be true. Hell, it was only a matter of numbers before one of these mega-church leaders getting caught with a hooker had it being caught with a guy instead of a girl. But...
Does anyone else think that those voicemails are a little too explicit. "Hi, hooker? I wanted to buy some drugs? And get them now? And here's what I'll pay?"
Of course, if he is a tweaker, then that's probably about right, but it still seems a little too good to be true.

Who knows; the guy did just resign from every position he had today.

6. He is pretty careful about not identifying the "stuff"
"get any more"
"money for inventory"
"unless you have some in the house"
"go ahead and get the stuff"

From the voice messages, he could just be talking about Amway. Given that he resigned, though, I am pretty certain there must be much more out there.

8. The voice mails are being analyzed
I feel sorry for the congregation if this is true. Disillusionment is not pleasant.

14. I'm not so worried about his congregation
Those megachurches are cults, anything to break that cycle is fine.

I do feel sorry for his family. He's got a wife and five kids, this well mess those kids up for life. :(

15. I don't feel a damn bit of pity for his congregation
Edited on Fri Nov-03-06 08:23 AM by IanDB1
They ate his shit up with a spoon when he preached hate and bigotry, and they hung upon his every word.

They are not nice people.

"Oh, yes, Pastor Haggard! We hate the homosexuals! We're evil bigots just like you! We love you! Take our money!"

And now they're disillusioned?

Oh, cry me a fucking river.

The only ones I feel sorry for are his kids, who did not ask to be born to a father who is a monster.

Everyone else around Dan Haggard has CHOSEN to be around Dan Haggard.

They deserve every bit of any suffering they get.

Fuck them all.

I hope it hurts.

Maybe it will take this kind of operant conditioning for them to finally LEARN something.

12. can you imagine
if Pastor Ted had been calling John Kerry every Monday like he has been calling bush? Damn, what a difference a party makes.

<snip>

Pastor Ted, who talks to President George W. Bush or his advisers every Monday, is a handsome forty-eight-year-old Indianan, most comfortable in denim. He likes to say that his only disagreement with the President is automotive; Bush drives a Ford pickup, whereas Pastor Ted loves his Chevy. In addition to New Life, Pastor Ted presides over the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE), whose 45,000 churches and 30 million believers make up the nation's most powerful religious lobbying group, and also over a smaller network of his own creation, the Association of Life-Giving Churches, 300 or so congregations modeled on New Life's “free market” approach to the divine.

weren't just about religion.

I wonder if he was helping Bush get some inventory too?

10. Was Haggard in Denver on the 4th?
That should be easier to prove or disprove. If he was, methinks he has a whole lotta splaining' to do!

What a hypocrite!

This is great shit.

"...The acting senior pastor at New Life, Ross Parsley, told KKTV-TV of Colorado Springs that Haggard admitted that some of the accusations were true.

"I just know that there has been some admission of indiscretion, not admission to all of the material that has been discussed but there is an admission of some guilt," Parsley told the station..."

They are on the air with this bald-faced lie.

21. Morning Edition
It's not live, they run the same taped segments over and over all morning. NPR isn't the place to go for late-breaking, up-to-the-minute news.

22. So they are playing tapes of false news?
They are contradicting what every other source is reporting, not simply reporting late (which is not an excuse either).
