IBM 4th Chennai facility soon (India)
2006-11-03 08:25 Source : Moneycontrol.com

IBM will expand operations in Chennai by opening its fourth facility in the city to provide IT services to domestic and international clients.

The new facility at DLF Park in Guindy will be operational in early 2007, with a capacity to house around 3,000 employees, Mr Shanker Annaswamy, Managing Director, IBM India, told newspersons.

The US-based IT company employs some 43,000 people in India. It has offices in 15 cities, including Bangalore, Chennai, New Delhi and Mumbai.

Expansion in Chennai was part of the company's $6-billion three-year investment plan announced in June by the Chairman and CEO, Mr Samuel J. Palmisano.

2. There's more, cheaper human capital in India than in America...

I don't think the selling off of America is deliberate; it's just a happy coincidence. And it's all about money.

IBM should get Sanjay Kumar to cook, oops run, the accounting books too...
