Air America hires blogger tackled by Allen backers
Stark, whose scuffle with Sen. George Allen's supporters at a campaign stop Tuesday in Charlottesville made national news, has been hired as a reporter for a liberal talk show.

Arianne Schrodel, a spokeswoman for the show titled "The Young Turks," said the 38-year-old Stark would be the show's first "street reporter."

Stark would not say how much he was being paid as a reporter for the show. He also said he was uncertain if he would cover the Virginia Senate campaign because of study demands at U.Va.

"This job is totally secondary to law school," said Stark. "But the main reason they're hiring me is because of the void in the media of asking difficult questions of powerful people."

1. If they tackle tough questioners, AA should hire reporters who look like this.

2. I don't trust the Young Turks. They're centrists(or worse)
And WHY ARE THEY getting money to hire a reporter when the rest of the radio network is going broke? Could it be they have their own special sponsors????

Hmmmmmmmm?

3. Rumors say Sirius may broadcast AA again
Sirius needs more than just 1 liberal channel and if they can get Air America again, so much the better.

Deadline for this to go through is November 22.

6. If Sirius also carried MS-NBC, I might switch.
I'm still pissed at XM for dumping MSNBC.

I sometimes listened to Countdown in my car.

11. I'm not sure they really need it
There is an incredible amount of liberal talk programming out there, even without AAR.

I have thought for awhile that Sirius should add a second Left channel to the lineup. Let's face it, they already have several conservative channels. With a second Left channel, they could pick up Nova M offerings, air Thom Hartmann in its entirety, air Stephanie Miller and Alex Bennett live at the same time, add lesser-known syndicated talents like Doug Basham, maybe even add non-comm stuff like "Democracy Now", or even enter into a deal with, say, Head-On Radio. The possibilites are endless. The cost of all this couldn't be very expensive. Likely a heck of a lot cheaper than dealing with AAR.

To fill other slots, they can just time-shifted repeat shows on each channel.

5. It's unclear from this story that Stark is being paid ANY money.
His declining to answer the question—and pointing out that his studies will supersede his reporting duties—could just as easily indicate that he's not being paid anything.

I like that guy. I saw Tucker Carlson interview him and he handled himself well.

9. Well it looks like he got what he wanted...
He didn't deserve to be tackled like that, but on the other hand, I think he may have gone looking for trouble hoping it would grow into something more for him. I guess he got it.

10. If I recall from Mike's encounter with O'Rielly some months back,
I believe he's a DUer. I don't know his user name, though.

16. I hope he has a hard head and doesn't bruise easily.
If he's going after Repugs, he will surely be beat up a few more times.
