Cheney: Dem victory would embolden militants

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Nov 3 (Reuters) - U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney, campaigning for Republicans four days before congressional elections, said on Friday victories for Democratic critics of the Iraq war would tell militants that "their strategy is working."

...

In an interview with ABC television, Cheney cited the example of antiwar Democratic Senate candidate Ned Lamont's primary win against incumbent Joe Lieberman to suggest al Qaeda militants would draw messages from the vote.

...

"I think when they (militant groups) see something happen such as happened in Connecticut this year with the Democratic party in effect (having) purged Joe Lieberman, primarily over his support for the president and the war, that says to them that their strategy is working," Cheney said on ABC's "This Week."

...

"Clearly, there have been problems," Cheney said, but he added, "We've got the basic strategy right."

....wouldn't victories for republican supporters of the Iraq war tell the militants that they should, 'stay the course' for it will be more 'business as usual'?....

....I understand your animosity towards Democrats, considering you're the 'Great Democrat Hater', but bringing up your good friendship with Joe Lieberman several days before an election, just isn't being fair to Lamont....

....'clearly, there have been problems' because you HAVEN'T gotten the strategy right....confess dick, you knew that....

16. WORLD NET DAILY INTERVIEW TERRORISTS!!
World Net Daily, that extreme fascist Religious Right site, has gone over the top. He's interviewed SEVERAL terrorist leaders, some of whom have murdered HUNDREDS. The very article ostensibly states that the TERRORISTS want the democrats to win because they WANT TO COMMIT MORE TERRORISM!! This completely flis into the face of common sense. With the criminal republicans out of power, PEACE would break out.

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=52747

I can't believe this is a real story. Here is the opening paragraph:

Everybody has an opinion about next Tuesday's midterm congressional election in the U.S. – including senior terrorist leaders interviewed by WND who say they hope Americans sweep the Democrats into power because of the party's position on withdrawing from Iraq, a move, as they see it, that ensures victory for the worldwide Islamic resistance.

Now...what the HELL is a criminal republican bastard like Klein doing interviewing someone who KILLED CHILDREN AND WOMEN? OBVIOUSLY the Bush administration is fully in support of such an action, and for that we MUST take action against World Net Daily.

This is too surreal. DESTROY all the republicans as SOON AS POSSIBLE.

It seems more likely that the terrorists are more embolden by the incompentance of this administration.
I mean, before scrubbie and f**k you, many of these people were footnotes at best in the Middle East. Now they lead insurgent groups, terrorists groups or terrorist cells.

25. If there's one thing we know about Cheney, it's that he tells the real truth
'The insurgency is in its last throes' ..... 'Saddam Hussein was connected to 9/11', etc. etc. So when he says militants would be helped, we know we can trust what he says with absolute certainty.

32. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Militants. Not insurgents. Not
terrorists. Militants. What does this shift in language MEAN?

Militants = Iraqi patriots sick unto death of being occupied? Sunnis who reject a Bush-written Constitution?

or, maybe Militants = militarists, people given to killing others for what they consider a righteous cause.

But that could mean... Bushites!

I don't know, Dick, you're confusing me. And I know you know stuff we don't know, like why you flew to Hawaii in 2004, two days before the (s)election, and where you were and what you were really doing on 9/11. Things that might be unsettling to many Americans. And you knew, way back in May, when the Abu Ghraib photos came out, that your rightwing buds at Diebold and ES&S would fix it all. But I think they're a little worried about flipping this one--they might lose their new capability for future purposes, purposes that don't include you. You may be expendable, Dick. But you know that, and you've taken measures to prepare for it. Dossiers on Congress critters, I imagine. And other "security" measures and escape routes. I'll tell you, I won't be surprised if you turn out to be right--that the Dems with a--what is it now? a 60%-65% pt. lead in the polls--are going to "lose" to Bush "pod people." Wouldn't surprise me at all. And that's a big difference, in only two years' time, from 2004, when I WAS surprised. Well, not surprised that you stole it, but surprised that you got away with it. So I do realize why you bother to say things like this--still trying to create the pre-written narrative for post-election "explanations" of why you "won"--this time, that Americans don't want to "encourage the militants" by voting for Democrats. Right. Or maybe you're just stuck. A broken record--as we used to say in the old days, before CDs. Can't think of any new lines, so just keep repeating the stuff that nobody ever believed anyway. Ah, me! Dickie, Dickie, you've done your best, boy. You've created UNCERTAINTY and CHAOS. You've robbed us blind, and left us in a state where we don't know what you and the other Dark Lords are going to do, or what we, the people, are doing to do. Nuke Iran, blow the Middle East to high heaven? Steal ALL the (s)elections? Steal SOME of the (s)elections? Move to Paraguay and launch a private war on South America? Or are we going to bring you to justice, in our muddled, democratic fashion, sidestepping your rigged voting machines by massive Absentee Ballot voting, and putting a few good Democrats in there to tear at your heels? Dunno, Dick. You've got us puzzled, for sure. Maybe the meaning of "militants" entirely escapes us.

34. Oh good grief!
Al Quaeda aren't that interested in the details of American congressional elections. If they were into changing things by influencing such democratic processes, then they wouldn't be the danger that they are. Better to 'purge' someone in an election than to blow people up; but Cheney is so basically anti-democratic that he doesn't see the difference. "Vote for the people whom I want, or the terrorists will blow you up" - is that the argument of a lover of freedom and democracy? Sounds more like one step away from the approach of the terrorists themselves. FEAR! FEAR! FEAR! That's how Cheney wants to influence people, so it seems. As far as he is concerned, freedom is great when it's the freedom to vote Republican.

And did I say that I hate Cheney???!!!
