Bush cites economic progress under GOP
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - President Bush said Saturday his tax-cutting policies have created jobs and promoted growth, economic progress he contended is jeopardized by the prospect of Democratic victories on Election Day.

"Americans are finding jobs and they're taking home more pay. The main reason for our growing economy is that we cut taxes and left more money in the hands of families and workers and small business owners," the president said in his weekly radio address, delivered live from Mile High Coffee in suburban Denver.

Campaigning on the final weekend before Tuesday's vote, Bush told reporters just before the broadcast that he "feels good. It's quite a campaign coming down the stretch."

On the radio, he said Democrats consistently have opposed his tax cuts and they predicted the tax would not create jobs or increase wages and "would cause the federal deficit to explode."

1. majority of Americans can't make ends meet the 'American dream'

Bush can cite all the statistics (damn lies, per Mark Twain) he wants

The ruling elite are doing great; most of us are falling through the cracks

Unemployment figures don't reflect those who've given up looking for work, the homeless, the underemployed who can't make a living wage that would support family values, and those who have to choose b/n necessary health care, prescriptions, eating and bankruptcy

2. Economic Progress?!?
With incomes raising for the average person making less that 150k or 1+ million in the bank unable to keep up wth the rate of inflation? Without the deficit of unemployment that already occured under GWB. The fact that the dollar is weaker than it was or that gold is exploding in value as a definite sign of serious market jitters.

Economic progress in comparison to what? Iraq? This guy is so completely clueless, or catapulting propoganda at us because it sure as hell isn't the truth.

3. The only new jobs Smirk has 'created' are for making bombs.
The lazy MSM never asks what I consider to be a most obvious question:

Of all the new jobs that Bush and Cheney are taking credit for, how many are directly tied to the Defense Industry -- including KBR, Halliburton and Blackwater contractors, as well as armament and military supplies manufacturers?

If the media would ever bother to lok (which they won't because that would be doing their jobs) I believe they'd find that half or more of these so-called "NEW' jobs actually drain money from the tax base, rather than add revenue to it.

6. Bush just reads what is written down for him, he could not give a rat's ass
...for the Americans who are finding jobs and taking home more pay. Bush's concern is for the republican base of the upper 20% income earmers of Americans who will take home more of their paychecks based on his tax cuts for the rich!

8. They have been priming
the economic pump for 6 years with bloated spending and massive tax cuts that allow the very richest to invest like drunken sailors at a whorehouse. Eventually the piper needs to be paid.

Those 90's under Bill's economic guidance was so awful.
