(Liddy) Dole: Dems 'content with losing' in Iraq
From her loony appearance on MTP:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061105/ap_on_el_ge/election_rdp

WASHINGTON - The head of the GOP Senate campaigns on Sunday sought to deflect growing criticism about the war in Iraq, saying her party will prevail in Tuesday's elections partly because "Democrats appear to be content with losing."

Sen. Elizabeth Dole, R-N.C., acknowledged that Republicans face a tight race to maintain control of the Senate, but that voters will focus more narrowly on local issues. Democrats need to take six seats to gain power in the 100-member Senate.

On Iraq, she said: "We need to win the war, and it would be disastrous to lose."

"It's like they're content with losing. To pull out and withdraw is losing. The Democrats appear to be content with losing," she said.

(end snip)

She then went ballistic and wouldn't let the dems get a word in.

3. "win" what "war", Liddy? "win" bush's INVASION, you mean?
By "win", do you mean total control of Iraq's OIL, as bush has just admitted was the reason for his INVASION of a nation that hadn't been doing anything against anyone?

Or by "win" do you mean the total enslavement of every Iraqi to their American occupiers?

Define "win", you stupid cow.

Better yet, go to Iraq and "win" yourself.

8. Republicans can't think in anything other than "either this or that" terms.
They are people who WILL "cut off their nose to spite your face". Their struggles aren't about what is right or best or good, but solely WHO has the power to say what happens. It's like seeing the struggles between parents and their teenagers that I used to observe as a teacher. It often wasn't about what works or what is helpful; it frequently boiled-down to "because I say so" and NO rational reason whatsoever. That's what Republicans are about.

Even if they know a course of action harms others or **even themselves**, they are incapable of adapting, because to do so is to "lose power". Right IS what we/Republicans say it is and nothing else is right or good or useful.

They are like the alpha-male aligators fighting around a dwindling water-hole during severe drought. Rather than go, like "lesser" aligators to dig in the mud of the river banks and hibernate until the rain comes, they stay and fight and kill each other until they are completely spent and then the drought kills them, before the rain comes.

I hope there are enough of those whom we need in hibernation, to give us a chance when the rains finally come. We're waiting for the rain.

The only winner in this will be Iran, because we have set up a Shiite puppet government. Amazingly, that was the reason the elder Bush didn't want to take Saddam out in the Persian Gulf war ten years prior to this.

Sex morning, noon and night would mellow her out and make her less warlike. I don't think Bob accepted payment in merchandise for doing those Viagra commercials.

Look at JFK. That boy got laid a LOT, and he was always nice and mellow.

Then you look at Nixon. Nixon only had sex twice and he was batshit crazy.

Reagan was too fucking old to have sex, so he had to expend his energies on other pursuits like bankrolling Osama bin Laden and arming Saddam Hussein.

15. Laura Bush sends out mail to her friends
Dear Fellow Republican,

George and I are deeply touched by the support and encouragement we receive from folks like you all around the country. Thank you.

As First Lady, I have a unique perspective on politics and the issues that affect families. So when my good friend, Senator Elizabeth Dole asked me to write you and reinforce how important your support of the
National Republican Senatorial Committee is, I enthusiastically agreed.

I have been traveling around the country, helping every candidate I can, and I know that we have some great Senate candidates who need a few extra dollars to help push them over the top to victory.

That's why I'm asking you to please rush the NRSC an emergency contribution of $50, $75, $100, or $250 within the next 24 hours.

There are only days left to reinforce our Republican Senate candidates with advertising support and voter mobilization efforts.

And from the reports I've seen and heard, it looks like there are at least six highly competitive Senate races that could go either way! We need to act now to turn these toss-ups into solid Republican victories.

Your help is critical!

In this final, all-out sprint to Election Day, many Senate races are still too close to call...

...That's why the NRSC MUST maximize efforts to reach out to undecided GOP voters who will make the difference in our push to retain our vital Senate Majority.

Please make a generous donation to the NRSC today in the amount of $50, $75, $100, or $250 to help rally Republicans and allow our GOP candidates to get their strong conservative message out to the voters without the interruption of the liberal media filter. Thank you!

Please send whatever amount you can to the NRSC today.

Click below now to make an urgent donation to the NRSC now.

I hate to imagine what the next two years would be like for my husband and the entire country if the liberal Democrats gain control of the U.S. Senate.

There is so much yet to accomplish in the next two years. President Bush needs a Republican Majority in the U.S. Senate to ensure we continue to implement policies that protect America from terrorism, make the historic tax relief permanent, and confirm conservative judges.

This is why your support is so critical in these final days. Thank you for all you are doing to help keep our country strong and preserve our Republican Majorities in the United States Senate and House. Your support along with a strong grassroots effort will help keep the Senate in Republican hands.

Click here to make a $50, $75, $100 or $250 donation to the NRSC now.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your support for the NRSC.

Best wishes,

to a civil war. Let the Iraqis decide what they want. Stop bullshitting America... you could care less about our own Democracy never mind having any form of democracy in the Middle East. You are only fooling a very small minority in this country, starting with yourself as the biggest fool of them all. Why did your political party go in to Iraq with no plan? And why cut Veteran's benefits while giving the already wealthiest people in the US a Tax Deferral?

19. NEWSFLASH: IT'S NOT A WAR, AND WE CAN'T WIN IT!
It hasn't been a war since we defeated Saddam and the Iraqi army, and as Kerry tried to explain in his campaign, the correct action against terrorism is international police cooperation, detective work, rooting out terrorist cells, finding their plans, etc. You don't win this so-called 'war' with tanks and armies, nor with 'more troops', and more so than our current dumb-ass administration, it's incredible that the public took this long to begin to figure this out.

mail; but if you write, you are put on her hit list for Republican contributions.

A fat cow who went horizontal to go vertical.

Although she had reasonable qualifications, her career did not take off until she hooked up with Bob Dole, minority/majority leader of the U.S. Senate.

It pays to have powerful friends in Washington, especially in these corrupt times.

21. Pope John Paul II warned Bush that if he went into Iraq he would do so without God
We went into Iraq without God. We launched a criminal war of aggression against a nation that did not attack us, and now we are reaping the consequences of our blind pride.

The US has already lost the war in Iraq, and is on the verge of losing the one in Afghanistan.

The only question remaining before the American people is how many names do we want engraved on a future war memorial?

"Sen. Elizabeth Dole, R-N.C., acknowledged that Republicans face a tight race..."

After seeing Liddy say this on MTP this morning all I could think about was her scary face, so when I saw this quote I read it as
"tight face" instead of "tight race."
You can't blame me for it if you saw her. She actually made Joan Rivers look like a wrinkled hag and Courtney Love look like the picture of rational thought.

Not necessarily the best analogy, since Doles's claim is clearly preposterous, while the GOP did in fact take steps to post bluebrints for an atomic weapon on the internet, in Arabic no less. For every lie they trot out, there's a fact that blows it out of the water.
