Bush rallies GOP faithful in Grand Island

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. - Forty-eight hours before the election, a feisty President Bush urged a cheering crowd of 7,000 in one of the nation's reddest states to back Republicans.

Bush said a Democratic-run Congress would raise taxes and weaken America's security.

Democrats in Nebraska and elsewhere, meanwhile, said that Bush's trip to Nebraska, part of an 11th-hour campaign swing through states he carried easily in 2004, was proof that Democrats are close to retaking control of Congress on Tuesday.

Bush, who flew to Nebraska from his Crawford, Texas, ranch Sunday afternoon, begged to differ.

5. Surely people won't be suckered by this crap

W's only visit to the 3rd District, which was like the fourth highest congressional district percentage-wise in re-electing him, and he only comes to "share his love" when he is in trouble.

Kleeb is by far the best candidate to represent western Nebraska.

Smith is an arrogant twit, who probably won't even carry the vote in Scotts Bluff County, where people know him best.

I was born and raised in Nebraska's third congressional district so I know first hand how solidly conservative red it is. The fact that Bush has to campaign here in the closing hours is very bad news for the GOP!!! GO KLEEB!
