3 blasts reported in Mexico City
MEXICO CITY - Three simultaneous explosions late Sunday targeted the offices of one of Mexico's main political parties, the headquarters of the country's electoral tribunal and a bank.

Civil protection authorities said no injuries were reported but declined to discuss details of the explosions, which happened around midnight, the government news agency Notimex said.

Mexican radio station Formato 21 reported that the entrance to the headquarters of the Institutional Revolutionary Party, known as the PRI, was damaged, with some windows broken.

The radio station quoted a PRI representative as saying the explosions were carried out by groups trying to destabilize the government prior to President-elect Felipe Calderon's swearing-in on Dec. 1.

6. Everything is related...
Although there are some left wing elements in PRI, right now the "official line" represents the same right wing as PAN, Fox and Calderón.

12. Explosions in Mexico City damage political party's headquarters
Explosions in Mexico City damage political party's headquarters, reportedly damage bank
The Associated PressPublished: November 6, 2006

MEXICO CITY: Three simultaneous explosions occurred early Monday in Mexico City, destroying a building entrance at a leading political party's headquarters and reportedly damaging the Federal Electoral Tribunal and a bank.

Authorities also deactivated a homemade explosive device at a second bank branch near the tribunal, Mexican news media reported. No one immediately claimed responsibility for the explosions.

Authorities told Mexican news media there were no injuries and the explosions did not cause any fires.

Mexico City Public Safety Secretary Joel Ortega told reporters that emergency officials received two telephone calls shortly after midnight warning that bombs were about to be detonated. The first explosion happened about 12:30 a.m. (0630 GMT), he said.

these explosions represent but if I was a big rich man in a country

21. Bomb at Mexico's top electoral court, the one that 'selected' Calderon.
Edited on Tue Nov-07-06 12:25 AM by icymist
Small bombs hit Mexico election court, party HQ
MEXICO CITY, Nov 6 (Reuters) - Small bombs exploded on Monday at Mexico's top electoral court, the headquarters of an opposition party and a bank in the capital but there were no injuries, Mexican media reported.

The bombs went off simultaneously just after midnight.

The court, known as the Trife, drew protests by leftists in September for ruling that conservative candidate Felipe Calderon won July's presidential election fairly.

Judges threw out claims of fraud by leftist candidate Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, who lost narrowly.

Police deactivated two other bombs, one at a second Scotiabank near the court and another outside a Sanborns restaurant, a chain owned by billionaire Carlos Slim, near the PRI headquarters, said Mexico City Public Safety Secretary Joel Ortega.

Authorities said the deactivated bomb at the Scotiabank was inside a box labeled "Bomb-Danger."

The explosions came a day after more than 20,000 leftists from across Mexico marched in Oaxaca to demand the withdrawal of federal police who were sent in on Oct. 29 to end violence linked to a five-month protest against the state's governor.

The protesters are seeking the resignation of Oaxaca state Gov. Ulises Ruiz of the Institutional Revolutionary Party, or PRI, whom they accuse of rigging the elections that brought him to power in 2004 and oppressing dissent.

But got confused as to what time. Seriously, the anti-PRI have alot of political capital right now, they shouldn't blow it on senseless violence.
