Con Radio Host Telling Listeners to Crank-Call Dem Voter Hotline

(scroll down to: Repeat Robo-calls Suck? Blame the GOP)

Laura Ingraham has asked her listeners to call the Dem Voter protection hotline -- and they are now being flooded with calls from crank callers.

Please call Laura and tell her what you think about this: 800.876.4123.
You can e-mail her here: http://www.lauraingraham.com/asklaura;jsessionid=3D4556FA1C348C1FE9A9D1D85198BED0

Apparently, voter intimidation and fraud are a joke to Laura Ingraham. Let's let her know that it is no joke.

:grr::grr::grr:

UPDATE #2: More on Laura Ingraham: "caller indicated she is running a tape of Bill Clinton over and over saying "call 1-888 Dem Vote to report problems" — and then making fun of him, thus producing a spike in crank calls to the number" Protecting voter integrity is no joke. And I am not laughing. If anyone has audio of this, I'd love it.

Because they get paid so well by the republicon machine.

Interfering with voters, if they cannot get through to their hotline. sounds like a felony to me.

36. It's a felony...
From Wikipedia:

"The Telecommunications Act of 1996 makes some prank calls a felony with penalties of up to two years in prison, and possible fines (depending on severity) to make a prank call that falls afoul of the Telecommunications Act, 47 U.S.C. 223 (a)(1), the call must be done with the intent to "annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass". Arguably then, if the intent of the call is to amuse, confuse, or simply to engage the call's recipient, there is no violation of the Telecommunications Act."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prank_call#Criminal_offense

It would not be difficult to prove that the intent was to annoy and harass; and even if she didn't call the hotline, "Dr" Laura is guilty of abetting felons.

24. Ed Schultz had a legal representative (I guess for the radio station)
give his opinion. Yes, it could be a felony if her beaconing results in jammed phone lines. That is, you have First Amendment rights to free speech BUT you cannot shout "Fire" in a crowded theater. By Laura I., SUGGESTING that people call and jam phone lines, she may have just crossed the line. If she did, let's hope she's prosecuted to the maximum extent of the law? :hi:

15. 3 Republicans just got sentenced to terms in federal prision for doing this in NH
At the very least, this bitch is vulnerable to a charge of conspiracy to commit interstate telephone harassment (this is the charge that stuck in the New Hampshire cases).

Conspiracy to violate the civil rights of voters can be hard to prove in a case of this kind. But a telephone harassment charge is much, much easier to convict on.

22. Laura I., one each, may beat cancer but she won't escape Saint Peter's
NEGATIVE EVAL on her judgment day. Like Rushbo, Saint Peter won't even let the doors on the elevator open up to The Pearly Gates before he presses the DOWN button in the car that contains Laura I.

What a shameless, corrupt and partisan SHILL!

Id like to hear the evidence that if things work out will land her in jail.

Also the callers who participated in it ought to be charged for similar crimes of interfering with an election process. Its against the law PERIOD they don't get off the hook because they are hitler-youths.

26. ENOUGH! I want her investigated and PROSECUTED!
She's using OUR airwaves to surpress the vote. If that's not illegal, it SHOULD be. And when we take the Congress, let's tighten up those laws.

As "Bar" once said about Hillary: Laura Ingram...rhymes with "witch"

Think she can broadcast behind bars?

33. I referred a voter to the hotline this morning...
He hadn't received the proper absentee ballot; and he was afraid that they weren't going to let him vote at the polls. The poor guy had just lost his wife of 42 years to cancer, and he had to deal with this shit.

And now you tell me that Ms Busybodybitch is encouraging people to break the law for the sake of rethuglican morals.

An FCC complaint is definitely in order.
