3. Guess Boeing didn't need to steal those big bucks from us in military K's.
after all.
Good for them, though. Airbus has been good in several ways - it forced Boeing to think ahead. It forced them to improve their product. It forced them to act, not react.
On the other hand, govts in europe spent billions supporting them, and then they took a gamble which any rational person would realize was a stupid bet.

5. Worked for Boieng for 20+ years
When the military side of the company is up there is a lot of gov't research & development activity

When the military side goes south they transfer the people to the commercial side & use the R&D to develop a new & improved product....

4. Yippee! another victory against workers rights
Airbus makes some of the best planes around, and more importantly, has some of the best worker's rights in the entire world. If Boeing didn't get so many bloated military contracts, it couldn't compete with Airbus. I just hope that Boeing doesn't forsake it's workers when things turn around again.

7. Yeah screw those American workers!
This contract means jobs.

Airbus is in a boondoggle with their new super plane.

9. I support the workers
what I don't support is the endless exploitation of our workers by conglomerations like Boeing. At least Airbus, being a European company, respects it's workers rights.

8. never. too much pride, $$$ and more involved.
plus, they so hate Bush that they think they HAVE to have their own indie supply.

on a similar note, arms deals with China and Russia have almost doubled with countries that fear the US more than Al Qaida. Now, there's a successful foreign policy!
