1. Amazing. Well, CT is home to corporate bigwigs (Insurance Industry).
I am sure said bigwigs have and will manipulate things.

30. No he's not.
Lieberman
(Incumbent)
200,144 49% 39% of precincts reporting votes by county voter survey results
Lamont
161,564 40%
Schlesinger
40,258 10%
Ferrucci

Full CT Knibbs

Lamont is losing bigtime.
Pretty much a foregone conclusion.

4. he will, not because he is a nice guy, but because he is an opportunist
There are also other points, he is pro-choice, and is somewhat progressive, including stem cell research

We will not through the baby out with the bath water

However, if I am wrong, and Lieberman does NOT caucus with the Democrats, screw him

7. Hell, even some Pubs
want us to get the hell out of a certain quagmire.

If Lieberman whores himself to the Pubs this cycle, Lamont will convincingly kick him the curb next time. Time will tell if he is really a man of his word, or a whore.

Lamont ahead of Lieberman 46%-45%?

I'm so frustrated. What the hell's wrong with Connecticut?

17. I Guess They Were Going By Exit Polls
Too many turncoat Democrats, and Lieberman IS the de facto Repuke candidate, and he picked up most of the independents.

Let's hope the media is right and the exit polls don't mean shit.

31. This is awful
From WTNH.com on Lieberman's victory speech:

Lieberman said that since he is going back to the Senate as an Independent he will be beholden to no political party but rather will "only be beholden to the people of Connecticut and my conscience."

Not good at all. I don't trust this man.

35. We lost the battle, but won the war.
6 year terms are way to long in this day and age. It lets a politic entrench himself in governing, develop his brand and live off the fruits of others.

36. well you can't have everything
Still it would have been nice.

However I suspect he's going to find the world has changed a lot since he was last missing votes - the gravy train isn't going to be quiet as large and fox news isn't going to ask an independent to kick the chair out from under the senate Democrats as much as he likes to think.

still god he is such a wanker.

37. My biggest disappointment of the night...
...although it was pretty much a given.

Oh, how I wanted Lamont to win it.

Well regardless, he really showed us something in his campaign. He tapped in early to the growing discontent with the Iraq war, and showed that it was real, paving the way for others to make it a big issue. And that has worked out rather well for us, hasn't it!

Good on ya, Ned!
