Allen set to concede
RICHMOND Va., Nov. 8 (UPI) -- U.S. Sen. George Allen, R-Va., reportedly plans to concede, as news organizations late Thursday projected Democrat Jim Webb has won their Senate contest.

A Webb victory would hand control of the Senate over to the Democrats.

NBC News Wednesday said Webb had enough votes to win. Sources within the Allen campaign told CNN Wednesday that Allen might concede Thursday because a Wednesday canvas of votes suggested there was little chance that a recount would change the outcome.

6. Don't hold your breath
He's been a graceless whining thug the entire time - why the heck would he change now? Grace in defeat requires a solid inner core - he's just got hate and resentment and a sense of aggrieved entitlement.

10. But he is not so stuipd...
...as to expose the election fraud that they still could not counter!

If they really counted all of the votes, the story would be clear. The exit polls don't lie.

Congratulations Senator Webb!

44. yes indeed congratulations
And think about this - Allen lost in Virgina and what turned the tide was when he outed himself on tape as a bigot (the Macaw moment). That's he's an idiot and bully didn't help either but we have made some progress if in Virginia you can't be an open bigot when you are running for office.

And, preparing to work my butt off for Edwards in 2008!! I have to admit I was doubtful - lost my idealistic ideas along the way (I'm almost 50 for crying out loud!). But, once again, the founding fathers prove they were freakin' geniuses and have restored my faith. God Bless the USA!

7. definitely doesn't want to do a recount
it will show that the margin was much, much bigger when they find all the election fraud, that Webb probably actually won by a landslide.

17. How does one show strength with extra slow Virginians?
In Alexandria, Arlington and Falls Church, registrars said voter turnout may have broken records for a midterm election.

Allen was expected to show strength in the other areas of Virginia, where returns are traditionally slow.

The war in Iraq was a central issue in the race, the Post said. Webb portrayed Allen as a rubber-stamp senator for President George W. Bush's war strategy -- forcing Allen to moderate his support for the war and say "mistakes have been made."

Senior staffer: Allen 'not emboldened to fight this'

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- As the canvassing continues in Virginia, Sen. George Allen, R-Virginia, is sequestered in his home, "shell shocked," and going through "a nightmare," during this period of limbo, a senior Allen staffer tells CNN.

In a conference call with his senate staff and regional representatives Wednesday afternoon, the Virginia senator "didn't concede but he was clearly not emboldened to fight this," according to the staffer, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

I would advise Senator-elect Webb to start forming his transition team and ignore this...this..."Sore Loserman."

I believe that's how situations like this work...from recent experience.

26. For the first time in his life...
The bully's been smacked down. Ever since his Dixie flag-waving high school days, he's enjoyed kicking around people less privileged than he is. Now the chickens have come home to roost and all his dreams of glory have been dashed. Time to retire to the RW speaker circuit with Ann Coulter and George Will, Macaca. I wonder how often that word echoes in his brain, that quaint racial epithet caught on tape that laid him low.

36. The repukes can't afford to have this election
looked at under a microscope. The results don't match the exit polling, and there was no doubt a serious attempt at fraud - though it looks like they miscalulated Webb's numbers. Too damn bad, repukes. Get over it.
