In attempt to show a deadly strike on a religious school was justified, the Pakistani military has released surveillance video of suspected terrorists in training at a madrassa that was bombed last month.
The grainy black-and-white video shows an aerial view of the camp, which was in the Bajaur tribal region. Men dressed all in black can be seen lining up and doing what appear to be exercises.
One of the clerics killed in the attack, Maulana Liaquat, was one of the two main tribal leaders that Pakistani intelligence sources have identified as protecting al Qaeda's No. 2, Ayman al Zawahiri.
After the Predator strike, the source said, Pakistan sent in attack helicopters to chase down 15 men who took shelter in a mosque at the compound. The men then fled the area and headed toward the mountains along the Afghan border, where they were fired on by the Pakistani helicopters.
American intelligence officials at the CIA have not commented on the strike.
