CNN:Canada profs win right to smoke pot
TORONTO, Canada (Reuters) -- The use of medical marijuana has given two Toronto professors the right to something that many students could only dream of -- access to specially ventilated rooms where they can indulge in peace.

The two, at the esteemed University of Toronto and at York University to the north of the city, suffer from chronic medical conditions that some doctors say can be eased by smoking marijuana. They are among nearly 1,500 Canadians who have won the right to use the drug for health reasons.

2. the wonderful sanity of the Canadians - if only the US was sane but

the private owned US prisons would go broke if they couldn't house, at $ per head, dope smokers/growers/sellers.

courts would lose all those fees

and the faux rehab business's profits would go down.

and the wind would go out of the sails of the war on drug guys

11. We could use all those cops for fighting real crime
like murder, rape, the crack, meth and heroin trade, etc.

5. Medical pot won't ever make it here due to pharmas - $7,700/month for Zofran
which cancer patients and others with debilitating nausea take for it.

12. Believe me, I wish that were a joke
As a cancer patient who was hit by appendix cancer and had to go through radiation and chemo, a week's worth of Zofran runs up near that if you can't get insurance or help from your doctors who hand out some samples. The Pot helps a lot with enabling you to get the zofran down, pot laiden food helps itself keep down when you eat it because of it's properties. Cancer is a horrible disease, the treatment for it is just as bad as the disease for how much it abuses your body. These drugs are so hugely expensive and often the insurance companies (Including Medicaid) Will only cover so many pills at a time then not cover so many pills, the cost being debilitating.
