Union workers at U.S.-controlled Hanarotelecom to stage 1-day strike

SEOUL, Nov. 14 (Yonhap) -- Unionized workers at Hanarotelecom Inc., controlled by U.S. investors American International Group Inc. and Newbridge Capital, said Tuesday they will hold a one-day strike to demand job security.

About 1,000 workers will join the industrial action on Thursday in front of the company's headquarters where an annual shareholders' meeting is due to be held, the union said.
