Four U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Four more U.S. soldiers have been killed in Iraq, the U.S. military said on Thursday, bringing to at least 10 the number killed over the past two days in gun battles and roadside bomb blasts around the country.

Two U.S. soldiers were killed and two wounded in the eastern province of Diyala north of Baghdad, home to a volatile mix of Shi'ites, Kurds and Shi'ites, when a bomb hit their vehicle during combat operations on Wednesday, the military said.

~snip~

At least 44 U.S. soldiers have been killed this month, half of them in the western Anbar province, heartland of the three-year-old Sunni Muslim insurgency.

The mounting U.S. death toll in Iraq is piling pressure on the Bush administration to begin withdrawing its 140,000 troops. At least 2,863 have been killed since U.S. forces invaded in March 2003 to topple Saddam Hussein.

My prayer too. I am with you.

I would hope it is MOUNTING pressure. It takes 140,000 American lives to hang a guy?

No one ever accused gw of having a brain.

Get them out of there. What a freaking moron. Jokes are just not worth it anymore.

6. Bring the troops home today. No more piles of dead bodies

Grass Bush

Pile the bodies high in Austerlitz and Waterloo Iraq
Shovel them under and let me work--
I am the grass; bush; I cover all.

And pile them high in Gettyburg Baghdad
And pile them high in Ypres and Vedum Mossoul and Al Fallaujah

Two years, ten years, and passengers ask the conductor:
What place is this?

I am the grass bush.
Let me work.

7. I am so sick of this
WHEN will this country realize that the BEST and BRAVEST of our men and women are dying for a LIE? I am SO tired of saying a prayer every time I hear of another death. I am SO tired of hoping against hope that the rest of the country will finally rise up and say enough is enough. The election helped but we need to get out NOW - Abazaid, *, Rummy and Cheney will all burn in hell for this

13. Looks to me like we will not get them out. Sen. is all
running for the WH and they are all trying to find their mark on the stage so they can run for office. If we vote for one of these grand standers we all should be shot. Even the Generals will say they want war as that is how they make rank. Looks like a stage show of prima donnas. Made me think of my history books once more as I read once the last Kaiser was once called an 'hysterical prima donna' and we seem to have a city filled with them. Not a statesmen can we find I guess. A dance of death for the men and for one person to have guessed the right place to be for the 2008 show.

15. When is this going to end?
How many more have to die just because our idiot politicians have convinced themselves that pulling out makes us look bad and nullifies the sacrifice these young men and women have made? How many more before sanity hits?

17. Don't you ever wonder?
It was 4 on Monday, and 4 the day before. Filtered casualties so that each day will look the same and people stop paying attention. This is the plan of the bushbots now since Congress is Democratic now.

18. No, this is the way it's been since March 03
The congress is not ours yet, even when we control things don't expect rapid change, we will eventually leave iraq, then we better be prepared for the war to come home to us.
We've sown some bad bad karma in the past six years, against people with long memories.
Still I'm at a loss of words myself, except RIP.

20. CNN skips over the part of Abizaid's comment that troop levels
...elevated by 20,000 could not be maintained by US indefinitely. Reason, increasing troops advocate McCain is presidential favorite. His question reveals his Vietnam bias and his ignorance of ground troops manpower and deployment issues.
