Turkey offers training for Iraqi forces
Turkey‘s prime minister on Thursday offered training for the Iraqi police and army, and urged power-sharing among ethnic groups in the Iraqi oil center of Kirkuk.

"We are ready to give every kind of support," he said. "We are ready to train them, in the military field, and in the police field."

The city lies just south of the Kurdish autonomous region stretching across Iraq ‘s northeast. Kurdish leaders want to annex the city. Iraq‘s constitution calls for a census and referendum on the issue by the end of next year.

1. We need more than
just Turkey's help. We need all middle east country's to be involved. We other middle east country's police and army to in-bed with Iraq forces and work with them. We need more middle east faces not American faces in Iraq. They need to stand on their own.

2. We do NOT want Turkish help in Iraq.

The Kurds may have the one region in Iraq where things can be said to be "OK" (but, sadly, now getting worse again).
The Turks have centuries of history of oppressing the Kurds, and their greatest fear now is an independent Kurdish state... with oil money... and an ability to absorb millions of Kurds in Turkey (and Iran)... and with a desire to create a greater Kurdistan, carving out a large chunk of eastern Turkey and northern Iraq. So, no, we do not need the Turks in there training Sunni or Shi'a death squads and turning them loose on the Kurds.
