Poll: Public positive on Dem takeover
Posted on November 16, 2006

WASHINGTON, Nov. 16 (UPI) -- Initial U.S. public reaction to the Democrats' takeover of Congress is as positive as early reaction to the Republican takeover in 1994, a new poll found.

Six-in-10 Americans said they are happy the Democrats won control of Congress, the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press said Thursday. In December 1994, 57 percent expressed a positive opinion of the GOP takeover.

Half of Americans said they approve of the Democrats' plans and policies, which also is comparable to approval of the GOP's agenda in 1994.

- snip -

Just 29 percent said they think relations between Democrats and Republicans will improve in 2007, while 46 percent said they expect relations to remain the same and 20 percent said relations will worsen.

It's been what, 10 days? Dems have not been handed the gavels yet. Already they are polling on them.

It's enough to make me start drinking.

3. I see they spent a lot of time conducting interviews at
mega-churches, clubs for multi-millionaires and insane asylums.
That explains where the roughly 35% of unhappy came from

5. Will the MSM pick up THAT talking point, since they pretty much
are all spinning in the opposite direction?

7. That's what I was thinking--are
Debras Saunders and Pat Buchanan gonna admit that this was, in fact, a win for the Dems? As opposed to just a rejection of the GOP?
