Denmark open to moving troops to Baghdad -minister
Denmark is open to moving its 470 soldiers from southern Iraq to Baghdad if the United States requests it, the country's foreign minister said on Saturday.

"The Americans are in Baghdad, and we work together with the English," Danish Foreign Minister Per Stig Moller said in an interview broadcast on DR2 television.

Facing an upsurge in sectarian violence, U.S. troops working with Iraqi security forces have s far failed to make much impression on the daily bloodshed in the capital.

470 soldiers could limit the sectarian violence in a 'whopping' 2 or 3 Baghdad neighborhoods. Denmark would pay a high price in soldiers just to keep a few Iraqis from killing each other.

1. I feel like the proper retort is, 'your funeral"
though it's for his nation's troops, more specifically...

3. Want a good idea that democrats can push for
Edited on Sat Nov-18-06 06:41 PM by ECH1969
China today wants to renegotate multi billion dollar oil contracts with Iraq.

China has the largest Army on the face of the Earth and has a government that could care less if some soldiers lose their lives.

The dems should push that China annie up 20,000 troops to help stop the slaughter in Baghdad if they want continued multi billion dollar oil contracts from Iraq.

That way dems can help the people of Iraq and be able to come back and say we did more to stabilize Iraq then Bush ever did.

4. That is really a fantastic idea. I imagine, however, that Bush
and his buds are scared spitless by China. Giving them the key to Iraq would probably not fly with these American Exceptionalists. Wow, though. If we see China starting to send some of its millions of troops to bring true Peace to hurting regions of the world......whoa Nellie!
