Ho Chi Minh shadow looms large over Bush

HANOI, Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh, dead for 37 years, still shadowed President Bush practically all
day.

Each of Bush's meetings Friday with Vietnam's president, prime minister and Communist Party
chief took place beneath huge bronze busts of the revolutionary leader who later became prime
minister and then president of North Vietnam. The setting produced some striking imagery and
an interesting juxtaposition for Bush, who has made it a goal to spread democracy throughout
the world.

The bust was mounted in front of a facsimile of the Vietnamese flag, a gold star on a field of red,
and was flanked on either side by the flags of both countries.

Next week, Bush visits Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon, in the southern part of the
country.

I have no doubt that Bush's handlers understand what the imagery of Georgie being repeatedly
pictured standing below a bust of Ho Chi Minh means to the Vietnamese people. Just another
clear indication that the Bushies would sell their mommas from city street corners if they thought
it would get their corporate patrons another source for cheap labor ..

2. Vo Nguyen Giap.
That's who to shadow him with. He probably doesn't even know who Giap is.
Giap told these fuckwits they were going to lose before they invaded Iraq.
Giap kicked their ass in VietNam. There is no cure for stupidity.

8. I think we killed even more than that
I keep hearing reports of millions being killed in Vietnam. Remember we B-52 bombed the North's civilian centers daily...I have heard as many as four million people, Vietnamese people died during our occupation..Republicans scoff at history and that is why when they are in power we are doomed to repeat it...They still think we could have won in Vietnam if only we had been allowed to by those filthy hippies...
