India test-fires nuclear-capable missile
By ARCHANA MISHRA, Associated Press Writer
21 minutes ago

BHUBANESHWAR, India - India successfully test-fired a medium-range nuclear-capable missile on Sunday, days after its rival Pakistan launched a similar missile.

The Prithvi missile was fired into the Bay of Bengal from the test range in Chandipur in the eastern state of Orissa, the official said on condition of anonymity as he is not allowed to reveal his identity under ministry rules. The test comes three days after rival Pakistan carried out a similar test of its nuclear-capable Ghauri missile, also known as the Hatf 5.

The competing missile tests came after the countries concluded a crucial round of peace talks in New Delhi aimed at resolving their differences, including the thorny issue of their territorial dispute over the Himalayan region of Kashmir.

Peace talks often come under criticism from hard-liners in both India and Pakistan, which have fought three wars — two of them over Kashmir_ since independence from Britain in 1947.

4. We don't have to worry about a direct attack from India.
But even a limited nuclear exchange, say three bombs each, between India and Pakistan can have devastating consequences to the environment, and throw enough radioactive fallout into the air to devastate huge swaths of China, Japan, and the South Pacific, perhaps even reaching (in low doses, but reaching still) Hawaii or even the Pacific coast.

We must do something right away about disarming the subcontinent.

5. Nope a direct attack is not what we have to worry about.
Beside when the Indians decide they have taken all they can from us, we have already given them so many weapons, that physical attack is completely unnecessary. With all of the sensitive and vital data that we have exported to them to save a few bucks, they can instantly wipe out our economy any time they want to.

Actually this brilliant administration has given Pakistan billions of dollars worth of military "aid" and debt relief. India has received a fraction of that.

Plus unlike Pakistan, India isn't a threat to us. If they did anything to hurt the US economy, they'd be retarded. They know who butters their bread and are wholly dependent on the US economy for their own. Though, I do agree with you about outsourcing jobs dealing with vital data. That's just stupid.

6. Wind patterns show it could avoid Hawaii
During the Chinese surface nuke tests (in Sinkiang which is north of India and Tibet) fallout spread north across Siberia and over the polar caps and then literally dropped all over the United states primarily in the Western and Eastern Seaboards.

Then Pakistan will get paranoid and do something stupid too.

Then the Dominos keep falling...

I suppose that, unlike economies and governments, it's a friggin' nuke that keeps people contained.
