News Corp. (Fox) accused of hush money offer
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061121/ap_on_en_tv/simpson_interview

NEW YORK - The O.J. Simpson book saga took another twist Tuesday when his former sister-in-law, Denise Brown, accused the media company behind the project of trying to buy her family's silence for "millions of dollars."

A spokesman for News Corp., owner of Fox Broadcasting and publisher HarperCollins, confirmed that the company had conversations with representatives of Nicole Brown Simpson's and Ron Goldman's families over the past week and that the families were offered profits from the planned Simpson book and television show, but he denied that it was hush money.

Denise Brown told NBC's "Today" show Tuesday that her family saw it as hush money.

"They wanted to offer us millions of dollars. Millions of dollars for, like, 'Oh, I'm sorry' money. But they were still going to air the show," Brown said. "That's what the ironic thing is ... they were going to do the show."

2. Pretty outrageous...
I've kept pretty quiet about this whole issue... But, the offer of money to the victims
families strikes me as a glaring admission by the movers and shakers at News Corp. that
they have lost any claim to any sort of commonality with mainstream humanity.

They have no conscience or dignity... None what-so-ever.

5. Not that I want to defend Fox but...
If they were planning to pay anyone who has outstanding judgments against them, it is logical that they would want to make sure the money goes to the people owed the judgment.

"families were offered all profits from the planned Simpson book and television show, but he denied that it was hush money"

"There were no strings attached," News Corp. spokesman Andrew Butcher said.

I know that doesn't change the fact that O.J. is a murderer and FOX is scum.

6. So how much longer before no one, NO ONE gives any credibility to FOX?
This network is right up there with the bu$h regime, in the it can't get any worse department. Every time they stoop lower you think they can't go any lower, then they do, just like their suitor, the entire bu$h regime.

8. How many scandals has faux been involved w/ in the last year?
How anyone even wants to watch that network for anything other than a good laugh - I don't know. You truely have to be a major koolaid drinker to believe anything coming out of there.

THEN add to that Rush Limbaugh whining about how horrible it was to have to "prop up" the Bush regime.
