Rally outside Boston federal courts for imams
Edited on Tue Nov-21-06 02:30 PM by Boston Critic
About 100 people rallied outside the JFK federal building today in support of two senior Muslim clerics after an immigration judge agreed that they could be released on bond following their arrest last week on allegations of visa fraud.

The Pakistan-born imams are both accused of taking part in a scheme that provided religious-worker visas to immigrants who used them for secular jobs. Outside court today, a crowd that included other Muslim clerics and Christian and Jewish leaders, denounced the government for what they called a misdirected investigation targeting Islam.

1. The anti-gay activist and his pal broke the law. This has nothing to do with being Muslim.

They abused the special privileges we entrusted them with.

They used their religion as a fascade with which to violate the law-- like that hasn't happened before.
