Multi-National Division – North PAO

TIKRIT, Iraq – A Task Force Lightning Soldier assigned to 3rd Brigade Combat Team,
82nd Airborne Division, was killed and three others were wounded when an improvised
explosive device detonated near their vehicle while they were conducting operations
in Salah ad Din Province Tuesday.

The three Soldiers wounded in the blast were transported to Coalition Forces’ medical
treatment facilities.

The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

1. All this messy news of
dead and wounded soldiers is really going to mess up the holidays for all the good "christians" in our country. Maybe there should be a blackout of such news until after the new year so conservative sensibilities won't be offended.

U.S. Military Deaths in Iraq Hit 2,867

As of Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006, at least 2,867 members of the U.S. military
have died since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003, according to an
Associated Press count. The figure includes seven military civilians. At least
2,302 died as a result of hostile action, according to the military's numbers.

- Army Spc. Eric Vizcaino, 21, New Mexico, died Tuesday in Balad of injuries
suffered Monday in Samarra in a non-combat related incident; assigned to the
2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team,
82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.
