Police kill groom on day of wedding, reports say
NEW YORK (AP) -- Police shot three young men who had just left a bachelor party at a strip club early Saturday, killing one man on the day of his wedding, according to police and witnesses. One of the survivors was in critical condition.

There was no immediate explanation for what sparked the shooting, which produced an outcry from family members and the Rev. Al Sharpton. The Police Department's chief spokesman, Paul Browne, declined to comment.

1. Oh, now that Sharpton's involved, that will calm things down a lot.

:sarcasm:

So, an un-armed man accidentally hit an un-marked police car and was shot about 17 times. And that's the guy who SURVIVED!

Yes, this definitely needs to be investigated.

That sounds like BS. Just like the 92 year old Granny shoot out a few days ago.

3. At least with the Granny, she was actually armed and actually shot the cops.
These guys were apparently unarmed.

6. When I read the headline I expected it to be a shooting in Iraq.
My mind was on the ME from reading a lot of topics on it tonight. Argh. My brain hurts.

7. Which was self-defense since they were not uniformed and they bashed her door in!

4. That is so sad.
I had a friend who died several days before his wedding day. They had wedding cake at the wake. She cut the cake and invited us to eat.

5. Too early...
I'd think, to really know what happened. "All I know, they was(sic) celebrating," probably also applies to the funeral procession being shot up in Iraq the other day, after firing weapons into the air.

Undoubtably, though, this is going to be blown up early and hard, if Sharpton's arrived.

8.  I noticed that a relative
of the dead bride-groom called Al Sharpton. Snarky comments aside, ..I don't know who better to call. Did you all see the added wording to the AP piece linked above...
The shooting happened just after 4 a.m. near the Kalua Cabaret in Queens, New York, said Officer Kathleen Price. She said there were no reports that any officers were wounded. As many as eight officers may have been involved, said Sgt. Mike Wysokowski, another department spokesman. (Watch an injured man scream as he's taken away Video)
