Steele Blames Party Leaders for Losses

Michael Steele says he might have done better in the race for Maryland's Senate seat if Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld had stepped down before the election.

Steele says he and other Republican candidates were hurt by the war in Iraq, even though Democrats never offered a solid exit strategy.

Steele appeared on the CNN news program "Late Edition" last night. He says voters expressed their frustration with Bush administration and the Republican Congress on November seventh. Republicans lost control of both the House and Senate as well as a number of governorships.

Steele says President Bush was not on the ballot, so voters ousted Republicans by voting for Democratic candidates in Maryland and other states.

4. Steele was a pompous asshole who thought African-Americans would vote for him
simply because he too is African-American.

I hope Michael "Dear Jewish Leaders - Stem Cell Research is like the Holocaust" Steele retires to the private sector. He and Erhlich were both mistakes in Maryland

11. Um, he was right about that.
He DID win a portion of the African-American vote because he was black. Really.

However, he was kidding if he thought it would make enough of a difference. If there were black people who would switch parties to vote for him, there were probably white people who would switch parties to vote against him. DUH!!!!

13. About 1/3 of any group of people are idiots.
On average. Of course, anybody who ever saw a video of Richard Pryor making fun of white people would recognize Steele's therapy-enhanced accent in a New York minute. Has anybody noticed that he's gone back to something more authentic since he lost?

5. He's blaming which party?
I mean, wasn't he trying to convince people that he was a Democrat, while winking at his few Repuke supporters?

6. He's right! If it wasn't for the leaders forcing all their party members to
walk lock step and keep them from thinking independently, they would have won everything!!

somehow I don't think his whining is working.

The repukes have only two modes of operation, following and whining.

I think we should mail them all mirrors so they can see who cost them the elections. LOL

9. I don't get the idea that Dem's needed a solid exit strategy. The repubs lost because they didn't
have and exit strategy. They started the war, they conducted the war and they are losing the war. The voters voted against them because they had no plan. It wasn't a matter of voters chosing between competeing plans. There is no plan because the right has no plan. The President was given a blank check to conduct the war and he wrote the check to haliburton. That is the one and only plan. Dems will investigate that spending and that is what the voters want to hear.

The right is looking for a way to blame their mess on Dems. First we need to establish just how we got there then we will come up with a plan to get out.

10. CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Steele was aligned to Bush, and as such, he wasn't going to win. He needs to get over it. It was 54% Cardin to 44% Steele. Rumsfield wouldn't have given him that 6% he needed.
