WASHINGTON -- An eagerly awaited report from the Iraq Study Group will address issues from the security and governance of the country to troop levels and redeployment, former Sen. Alan Simpson, R-Wyo., said Monday.
"Our job is: What the hell do we do now?" Simpson said in a telephone interview.
He and the nine other former public officials on the commission met Monday in Washington to begin work on their final draft. The report will be released in early December, he said.
"It's going to be a diplomatic offensive around that area of the world, and it will cover some very specific things," Simpson said of the group's recommendations.
