Jeb Bush will move into Gables condo (Miami, FL)
Jeb Bush will move into Gables condo

BY JOAN FLEISCHMAN
November 28, 2006

Jeb Bush, who will soon vacate the governor's mansion in Tallahassee, is moving to The City Beautiful. Bush and wife Columba are renting a ninth-floor condo in Segovia Tower in Coral Gables.
A high-end building, with million-dollar plus apartments and just one unit per floor. Residents: attorney Jim Ferraro, who has two units, including a two-story penthouse; Gables couturier Rene Ruiz and partner Brad Rosenblatt; personal injury lawyer Ralph Patino; and Holland & Knight attorney Marilyn Holifield.

Bush's condo application comes before the Segovia Tower board on Friday, the day he and Columba are set to move in. But Ferraro, a board member, says it's just a formality. ``I don't need to meet with him.''
Rent is $5,500 per month for the 3,949 square foot unit. The condo has three bedrooms, three baths plus a powder room, overlooks Granada Golf Course and is walking distance to Miracle Mile. Bush's landlord is Rolando Iglesias, a builder and real estate investor, and wife Hilda.

Segovia Tower, completed in 1998, is fitting for the lame duck guv, whose older brother is president and daddy ex-president. There's an on-site manager, full-time concierge, and 24-hour security. The private elevators are keyed to each floor.

But he chose the Gables high-rise, and signed a one-year lease with an option to renew.
Coral Gables Mayor Don Slesnick is pleased that Bush will be in the neighborhood. ``I hope we can get some of his wise counsel and guidance for city matters.''
Bush used to work with developer Armando Codina. No word on his job plans.

2. $5,500 sounds like a bargain

18. I know...
but I don't think these people are real Republicans - they are just "vote-carriers" for the real Repubs - the rich, right-wing "Christian" ones. Their job is to be easily bamboozled by the latter and vote with their "righteous anger" (aka FEAR.) If real Republicans couldn't cheat, lie and steal, they'd NEVER muster a majority - moral or otherwise.

14. That's just what I said when I read this. Its not too far from my home.
Edited on Wed Nov-29-06 09:01 AM by Mika
I live in a residential area a few blocks from where this cretin will live. :(

I am going to call my mayor, Coral Gables Mayor Don Slesnick, and suggest that he not seek Jeb's "wise counsel and guidance for city matters" unless he wants to run the city into the ground.
