Moscow points the finger of blame at billionaire exile Boris Berezovsky
The Kremlin mounted a concerted campaign yesterday to point the finger of suspicion at the billionaire businessman Boris Berezovsky over the death of his friend, Alexander Litvinenko, after traces of radioactive polonium-210 were found at the London offices of the exiled Russian oligarch.

Senior figures in the Russian establishment lined up to implicate Mr Berezovsky, who employed and funded the former KGB spy. snip.

Valery Dyatlenko, a deputy head of the security committee in the Duma, Russia’s lower house, told state television: “The death of Litvinenko — for Russia, for the security services — means nothing . . . I think this is another game of some kind by Berezovsky.”

Toxicologists tested for the presence of polonium-210 at more locations in Central London that had been visited by Mr Litvinenko on the day he fell ill.

1. I have to admit that NPR had a point this morning
That Putin would have had little to gain from taking this guy out, that the method harkens back to the KGB days a bit too much, as if Putin was supposed to be blamed and embarrassed by the incident.

Perhaps the Russian mafia should be looked at as well.

4. Obviously he cares, otherwise it would be back to the USSR level of repression
Nor would he step down after 08. Rusia has little to fear militarily, but they are still appealing to the west.

5. I actually liked how the blame was immediately shifted on Russia.
I mean who else, right? Those barbarians on the east should just give their damn oil and gas and be thankfully they are giving it to the the white men. /sacrasm off.

You know why is Putin so popular in Russia? Because he fights back the neocon megalomaniacs who seem to poison some victims every time Putin is having an important agreement to sign or visit to conduct.

Mark my words, this is not the last "KGB killing" which stinks to high heavens. What other negotiations does Russia have in the near future? WTO? NATO?
Probably Zakaev will go next and some other british "exiles", like robber-baron Berezovsky, those guys served their purpose in demonising Russia, they can be recycled now.
