One Task Force Lightning Soldier killed, one wounded

Multi-National Division – North PAO

TIKRIT, Iraq – A Task Force Lightning Soldier assigned to 3rd Brigade Combat Team,
82nd Airborne Division, was killed when an improvised explosive device exploded near
his vehicle while conducting operations in Salah ad Din Province Tuesday.

A second Soldier from this unit was wounded and transported to a Coalition
Forces’ medical treatment facility.

The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin
and release by the Department of Defense.
