Hillary Clinton: No to Cabinet Spot
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=536&e=5&u=/ap/20031210/ap_on_go_co/hillary_clinton_politics

"Asked what she would say if former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean web asked her to be his running mate, the former first lady said: "I'm not going to speculate or look into the future. I want to be the best senator I can be."

Clinton did say any of the Democratic candidates could beat President Bush

While New York's junior senator has brushed aside suggestions that she might run for vice president — or president — in 2004, former Gen. Wesley Clark said earlier this week he will keep her in mind as a potential running mate. "

Seems to me this is some indication that the "war" between factions in the Democratic Party is not as fractious as it might appear at times.

1. Between the candidates, they all get along great.
It isn't anything like what we see over here.

4. Crossfire tried
to start an internal war but Kerry with his grace refused to be drawn in on an anti-Dean bash...ditto Edwards and Gephardt. Belaga was really obnoxious about the Gore/Dean announcement. I have not made up my mind yet, but I firmly believe that President Gore has a right to endorse whomever he wants to whenever he wants to. I love Gore, and if he likes Dean, then he must be a winner.

6. Thank you
And while Kerry was blasting Koppel for his idiot questions last night, you could hear several of the other candidates agreeing. Including Dean saying, "right on."

2. LOL HOW condescending? THEY will keep HER in mind for
potential running mates?

She runs CIRCLES around them, in every way, shape and form.

They'd be lucky to have her as their boss.

3. To be fair
the candidates are not starting this crap. They are trying to answer stupid questions without being to offensive. What can they say: NO, I wouldn't consider Hillary for anything or YES, in fact, I'd give her my position! We shouldn't even be posting these threads they just give the media more nonsensical power to control the agenda.

5. I think it's rightwingers who are making Hillary
as a strawman stalking horse as an attempt to rally the True Believers, or anyone who is antagonistic to Hilary Clinton. It's just a lot of hot air.

7. I think the right is trying to make this a consideration so
swing vote republicans won't swing. I think it's a media-hype myself.

8. She may wish to reconsider ...
Guiliani is polling something like 15 points ahead of Hillary for her NY Senate seat. A cabinent post in 2004 might be a safer bet ...

That's a Perry Como kind of comment. Remember: "Dream along with me."

If Dean is the candidate, we will probably get a repeat of McGovern and Mondale. Egad. Why does Gore want us to get trounced in the 2004 election?

16. But, if he is nominated... then he is just not "Vermont's Governor"
he would be the cadidate of the Democratic Party, no?

Wasn't Clinton just "Arkansas' Governor?"
Wasn't Carter just "Georgia's Governor?"
people forget these things, it seems
