BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP)--A U.S. soldier was killed during combat operations in Baghdad Wednesday, the U.S. command said in a brief statement.

The Thursday statement said the soldier was killed at around 3.30 pm (12:30 GMT), but gave no other details.

The Soldier’s name is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
