Phoenix Airport Delays Tests of Controversial Security
Scanner That Can See Through Clothing

PHOENIX Dec 24, 2006 (AP)— A test of an X-ray security scanner that can see
through clothing, even taking clear pictures of the human body along with
concealed weapons, has been delayed until early this coming year at Phoenix
Sky Harbor International Airport.

The federal Transportation Security Administration initially said one machine
would be operating at Sky Harbor's Terminal 4 by Christmas.

However, the agency said technical difficulties were creating problems in setting
up the equipment so it work properly with the airport's wireless connections.

It also decided the holiday season was not a good time to start. "The last thing
we wanted to do was start this during one of the busiest travel times of the year,"
said Nico Melendez, an agency spokesman.

1. This is such an offensive violation of personal privacy and dignity.
Words fail me but there is no way I'm getting on a plane.

5. I'm with you on that one.
This is so offensive to me. It is bad enough that my family can no longer meet/greet at the boarding locations. It was bad enough being singled out for a wanding job. I draw the line here.

3. How do you think taping strips of
aluminum foil on the inside of your shirt to spell out "VOYEUR" would go over?

Might just be worth it.

4. Hmm. Sounds like there's going to be a run on lead-lined underwear.
Time to go into business!
