With Bayh and Warner now out of the 2008 race it might be worth looking again at Governor Tom Vilsack of Iowa. He is a centrist Democrat and chair of the DLC, he appeals to both male and female voters (crucial to win swing states in 2008), and he has a compelling personal story as well as NOT being a Senator. Ok he is not the most charisma filled candidate and he is not doing that well in the polls, even in Iowa. But he might just be the dark horse candidate the Democrats are looking for. President Obama is not going to happen and President Clinton (II) might be too divisive so what about VILSACK as the Anyone But Hillary candidate for 2008?
