FBI declares report of bomb aboard jet at Toledo Express Airport a hoax, airline says

A bomb threat aboard an American Eagle jet on the ground at Toledo Express Airport has been declared a "non-threat" by the FBI, according to a spokeswoman for American Eagle.

Thirty passengers and three crew members were removed from American Eagle Flight 4359 that had been grounded by a bomb threat on a taxiway at the west side of the north-south runway.

The passengers and crew were eventually removed from the jet and placed in shuttle buses. They were interviewed by the FBI and other law enforcement officials and it was determined the bomb threat was not credible, said American Eagle spokeswoman Andrea Huguely.

TOLEDO, Ohio -- A passenger in an American Eagle plane on the ground at the Toledo Express Airport called authorities Friday on a cell phone to report a bomb threat, authorities said.


The plane was isolated on a runway far from the passenger terminal. Authorities had not determined whether there is a bomb on board, said Scott Wilson, an FBI spokesman in Cleveland.

About a dozen fire trucks and emergency vehicles were parked away from the plane on the edge of another runway.

The 911 call from a passenger came in to the sheriff's department about 10:30 a.m., authorities said. The FBI and city fire officials did not know whether the caller was the one making the threat or whether passengers were still on the plane...
