Street kids raid poverty summit {for food} (BBC)

Dozens of street children have invaded a five-star hotel food tent and feasted on meals meant for sale at the World Social Forum in Kenya's capital.

The hungry urchins were joined by other participants who complained that the food was too expensive at the annual anti-capitalist get together.

The police, caught unawares, were unable to stop the free-for-all that saw the food containers swept clean.

The gathering in Nairobi is discussing social problems, including poverty.

A plate of food at the tent being operated by the prestigious Windsor Hotel was selling for $7 in a country where many live on less than $2 a day.

There should be NO street children, anywhere in the world. If we could stop killing each other long enough, and put an end to the vast chasm between the ultra-rich and the very, very poor, scenes like this wouldn't happen. The oppressed have been ground down under the boots of the well-heeled for far too long. Maybe some poor kids got a chance, for a change, to eat enough to satisfy them.

Lots of time there's $1,000 plates, with people living on $40 a day. SSD people live on $20 a day. Not so different here than there.

Wish there was more solidarity among people and street people over here,we and everyone who's hungry /poor/homeless could crash those 1,000 buck a plate fundraisers get some food we'd never be able to afford for once and get ourselves heard and heard face to face with these haughty fortunate swine at the same time. That would be interesting wouldn't it? Funny how the poorest consistently teach the richest most aggressive and oblivious to sufferings of others country how to be free of oppressive twits and how to respect themselves over any elitist fuck faces pretensions.
Wish more Americans had Balls like the Nairobi street kids do.
