Bill O'Reilly Removed from NCMEC Speaker Gig

Bill O'Reilly's execrable statements made shortly after the recovery of Shawn Hornbeck and Ben Ownby have come back to haunt him again. After O'Reilly's statements, Keith Olbermann pointed out the fact that O'Reilly was scheduled to be the keynote speaker for a fundraising event held by the Florida branch of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Today, the following announcement was posted on the NCMEC website:

In response to the numerous e-mails and inquiries we have received, we are providing the following update regarding the Collier County, Florida branch fundraising dinner scheduled for March 9, 2007 in Naples, Florida. Bill O’Reilly, host of The O’Reilly Factor, will not be a speaker at the dinner. The dinner will be held as scheduled. John Walsh, host of America’s Most Wanted, will be the keynote speaker.

We would like to thank everyone for their comments and e-mails.

Finally, the wubfambitz, has been held accountable for his lies and vindictiveness. I also wrote and I am relieved that NCMEC listened. I am choosing to think there were thousands of emails, letters and phone calls which made the made a difference. Had it not been for Keith Olbermann I would never have known about the story. I don't watch Faux Lies so I didn't have a clue his toilet mouth had addressed the kidnappings at all. As of yesterday I couldn't find anything in the MSM.

As a side note; those of you who wrote to GM about the suicide ad also made a difference. The ad was pulled and an apology given.

Writing and calling to express your views does make a difference. I was beginning to doubt it but look what we accomplished this past couple of weeks. A vile Snickers ad pulled, an insensitive suicide ad pulled and an apology issued and the icing-the wubfambitz O'Reilly was finally held a little accountable for a change.
