McDermont calls Bush administration liars
Edited on Tue Dec-16-03 02:45 PM by wabeewoman
"You can't trust what they are saying. Based this war on a lie. Hard to believe anything they say." Listed several lies: British airlines, turkey, Jessica Lynch, war in Iraq. Questions timing about Saddam's capture. Excellent interview on KOMO radio 1000 in Seattle.
Sorry no link but article in Tribune which I'll post a link to.

on edit: here is link to Tribune article. I'll see if KOMO has link to interview.

edit 2: not on KOMO site but here is the link as it likely will be later http://www.komoradio.com/

1. Finally someone uses the "L" word
It's been like Bush is the emperor with no clothes, and the Democrats in Congress have been saying "We have a few questions about the President's apparel".

2. They are liars, all right. But what lie are they telling about this?
Don't say, "the timing." Next October would be better.

8. Good question...
McDermott was saying the timing was suspicious and you basically couldn't believe anything they say. That is the first time I've heard anyone say that and list all the lies. Maybe Saddam was caught because too much bad news was coming out. I notice a concerted effort to point to how the economic indicators say the economy is recovering, the war is going well, Saddam has been captured.... But you're right, its a bit early for all this 'good news' -still lots of time for things to go wrong. Bush is getting an hour with Diane Sawyer tonight-when are they going to start calling that unfair advantage and politics. Fortunately he is so bad at interviews.

16. Any timing would be "good timing"
The Bush administration is constantly in need of good news to cover up their war crimes and domestic folly. This timing is not especially or particularly better than any other timing. October 2004 would be the best.

4. I can't vote for the man
Edited on Tue Dec-16-03 02:47 PM by BOSSHOG
BUT I WOULD IF I COULD. My congressman, Gene Taylor, Coast Guard Vet and middling to left leaning democrat makes me proud most of the time. McDermott merely is telling the truth. What a novel idea.

Isn't it telling that the greater the truth that is told about the right the louder the howls of protest.

7. So many lies
One lie that I had forgotten about came right after 9/11. How many people remember the lie about the passports of the hijackers that were found in all that fucking rubble and debris...intact!.

9. Has this been proven to be a lie?
I hadn't heard if it was. I always just figured it was planted there. It would be just as likely to find a needle in a needle stack, as it would to find the Hijackers passports in all that shit.

11. There has not been an 'official' correction by the administration...
but suspiciously enough they stopped repeating the lie right around the time the casualty count dropped from 7,000 to nearly 3,000 dead. By the way, do you recall how even when the revised casualty figures came out, many in the administration and their compliant whores in the media continued to use the higher of the two figures when expressing their outrage about the attack, as if 3,000 dead didn't provide enough bang for the buck.

It's all politics all the time for the gang in the White House.

10. Constant lies
Since the moment they took over. Nothing they say or present should be taken at face value because the only thing we know beyond any doubt about this administration is that they are liars.

My congressperson---Norm Dicks D WA. came out against Mcdermott. Norm Dicks stood right behind Bush urging the U.S. to war. This prick has his soul stained by the blood of Iraqi children that he helped kill!!!!!!!!
