Two Germans confirmed missing in Iraq

BRUSSELS (AFP) - German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier has confirmed
that two German citizens have been missing in Iraq since last week.

"It is true, since Tuesday last week two German nationals have been missing
in the country," he told reporters as he arrived for talks in Brussels with his
EU counterparts.

Steinmeier said that a German government crisis group had met on February 6
to work out what action to take.

A report in Monday's edition of the Berliner Morgenpost newspaper said that the
two were abducted several days ago in Baghdad, the capital of the violence-
wracked country.
