Bush has two moles removed from his forehead
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070216/ts_nm/bush_moles_dc_1

A doctor removed two moles from President George W. Bush's left temple on Friday and they were believed to be benign, a White House spokesman said.

The five-minute procedure took place in the White House doctor's office and was performed by Steve Krivda, a specialist at Walter Reed Medical Center.

Tests will be performed to determine if the moles were cancerous. Results should be back by the middle of next week.

"The doctors expect that both moles are benign," said White House spokesman Scott Stanzel.

The procedure will leave Bush with a one-inch scab for a week to 10 days, he said.

67. I see my dermatologist 2 to 3 times a year to be zapped.Melanin-challenged people are like that!
It's almost always "sun damage," "actinic keratoses" (same thing), or "pre-cancerous." The whole point is to get those spots taken care of before they turn into cancer.

Once in awhile my doc will biopsy something, but he can usually tell what it is as he removes it because he wears special magnifying attachments on his glasses and he has a well-trained eye.

Twice it's been a small cancer or cancerous tumor (I thought the latter was an ingrown hair or zit); but never melanoma, which is the real killer.

I'm not a WASP like Dubya, but am from an even more fair-skinned tribe, the Irish. The visits to the dermatologist are just part of my health-care routine, as skin cancer runs in my family.

73. Sometimes it's a pretty safe bet that a mole is benign...
I've had two cancerous moles and four benign ones excised...
the benign ones were removed just to be certain, since I'd already come up positive twice.

I'll tell ya though, the first one that came up 'malignant' knocked me for a loop and a half.
On the face, up by my eye...thought I was going to have a 'character building' Harry Potter-esque scar from that one...but you can hardly see the scar a-tall. :woohoo:

Bush to have colonoscopy under anesthesia

June 28, 2002 Posted: 10:16 PM EDT (0216 GMT)

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush Saturday will undergo a colonoscopy -- a diagnostic examination to check for early signs of colon cancer -- and will transfer power to Vice President Dick Cheney during the procedure.

"It is the third such procedure I've had," said the president. "The doctors recommended I have another because the last time they found some benign polyps."
