Congressman Cummings endorses Howard Dean

U.S. Rep. Elijah E. Cummings has announced he is endorsing Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean, former governor of Vermont.
Cummings, whose 7th Congressional District includes Catonsville, cited Dean's commitment to creating well-paying jobs, affordable health care and quality public education.
Cummings, who chairs the 39-member Congressional Black Caucus, emphasized that his decision to endorse and support Dean is one that he reached as an individual.

Baltimore Mayor Martin O'Malley has endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Gov. Howard Dean.


O'Malley said Tuesday Dean was the one Democratic candidate he was "excited about." The mayor said Dean was bringing "new ideas and people into American politics."
"Governor Dean's vision is one that will result in more jobs, not 2 million fewer, as we have seen on President Bush's watch -- with poverty growing," O'Malley said in a statement. "As a doctor, he understands that it is simply unacceptable that 40 million Americans don't have health care. He is committed to a strong national defense -- both abroad and here at home. And he realizes that America's cities are the places where we will determine just how great our nation is; he sees cities like Baltimore as opportunities, not as burdens."

Clark has remained above the mud slinging of some of the other candidates. We know who the two top contenders are.
