Maj. Gen. Eric Schoomaker named new Walter Reed head

Secretary of Defense Robert Gates named Maj. Gen. Eric Schoomaker head of Walter Reed Army Medical Center one day after relieving Maj. Gen. George Weightman of command.

“Gen. Eric Schoomaker has the right blend of leadership, professional expertise and personal experience for this position,” said Gen. Richard Cody, Army Vice Chief of Staff in a statement Friday.

Schoomaker, a medical doctor, will also serve as commander of North Atlantic Regional Medical Command. He will leave the post of commanding general of Army Medical Research and Command at Fort Detrick, Md. 3. Army Medical Research and Command at Fort Detrick, Md.
That's where they play with the level 4 bugs, like Ebola, Marburg, Hanta.

Keeping things under wraps in a biohazard level 4 takes some skill, and duct tape. Sounds like a solid choice to run the hospital until they close it down.
