Mass. Governor's Wife Being Treated for Depression, Exhaustion
Edited on Sat Mar-10-07 09:32 PM by louis c
The wife of newly elected Democratic Governor Deval Patrick has been hospitalized. Patrick, the first (or maybe second) African-American Governor elected since Reconstruction, has faced some harsh criticism over some really trivial mis-steps in his first months in office. Patrick never held public office before, however the media has cut him no slack.

As a strong union member, a current IBEW Local president and a member of the Greater Boston Labor Council AFL-CIO, I know first hand how open this administration has been early on to working folks.

My prayers are with Diane and the entire Patrick family. May God bless you and make you well.

1. I hope she gets thru this okay. Depression is so insidious and can really
mess with your perception and thinking. I've been battling inherited depression for a long time and thank god for the meds and a good therapist.

2. So much for respecting their privacy.
I too wish her renewed health and am happy to see Patrick is adjusting his schedule to help.

4. the "Liberal Boston Globe" has been relentless.
Edited on Sat Mar-10-07 10:15 PM by sallyseven
There are some reporters for the Globe that are just nasty and obnoxious and have been since before the election. There are some columnist who are the same way. Just as nasty as can be. The press is getting to be too corporate. NYT owns Boston Globe. Not the paper it use so be. Governor Patrick is a great guy and will be a great governor in spite of the snakes.

5. Nothing he's done warrants the nastiness.
I just can't stand the local papers.
