Reuters: Gates: "so far, so good" on new U.S. Iraq strategy
Edited on Sun Mar-18-07 06:15 PM by Xipe Totec
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - As the fourth anniversary of the war approached with another violent day in Iraq, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said on Sunday it was too early to evaluate whether the latest U.S. strategy was working but "so far, so good."

American generals say it will probably be summer before the impact of additional U.S. troops sent to Iraq can be fully assessed, and have warned that the troop surge could have a "squirting effect" where al Qaeda and insurgents would operate from elsewhere, Gates said.

"Yep, the paychecks keep coming in. I love this job. I don't have to do anything and still get paid!"

7. surge could have a "squirting effect"
The propaganda from the Main stream Media will be over powering. The little Adolph Chimp needs a few "Quick Victories"

I believe however he will "SNATCH DEFEAT, FROM THE JAWS OF VICTORY"

LOL

3. It Strains My Credulity That Iraq Shows Signs of Anything Except
a continuing downhill slide. But given the continuing news blockade, who can gainsay them?

Congress is going to have to stop wringing its collective hands and get us the hell out of there.

All this happy talk, nonsense about people returning to their now peaceful neighborhoods, is really getting on my last nerve.

The Iraqis have no water, electricity, security, or hope. Most of them haven't any of that missing cash, either. What's it going to take to get some intelligence (military or otherwise) applied to this BushCo clusterf**?

from a 60 story building. As he passes the 30th floor, he says, "So far, so good."
