NEW ORLEANS -- A judge on Monday postponed the trial of the owners
of a nursing home where 35 patients died in the aftermath of Hurricane
Katrina.

Salvador and Mabel Mangano, the owners of St. Rita's nursing home, face

miles away from the nursing home's St. Bernard Parish, but Judge Jerome
Winsberg agreed to push it back to Aug. 13.

Winsberg also ruled Monday that one trial can cover all of the charges
against the Manganos, including 29 counts of cruelty to the infirm from
patients who survived the Aug. 29, 2005, storm.
