Bruning may yet take on Hagel in '08
BY ROBYNN TYSVER
WORLD-HERALD BUREAU

LINCOLN - Attorney General Jon Bruning has changed his mind. He now is considering challenging fellow Republican Chuck Hagel in Nebraska's U.S. Senate primary next year.

Bruning said Wednesday he is upset with Hagel's criticism of President Bush and the Iraq war.

And, he said, his decision whether to run for the Senate no longer depends on whether Hagel decides to seek a third term.

Bruning, who is exploring a Senate bid, said last month that he would not run against Hagel in the primary.

1. Is Bruning the creep who investigated health records to embarass women who had abortions?
With the ridiculous ruse that he was investigating for statutory rape?

2. The AG in Kansas did that (and got national press)
not sure about Nebraska. The AG in Indiana threatened something similar but was either blocked, or got such negative press that he backed off the effort.

4. HAAAA! I knew it--I knew that bastard could not keep his word!
I'll bet he's hoping Hagel will just retire, rather than fight for his seat. The fact that Bruning is "upset" at Hagel's criticism of Chimpy and the war says exactly what kind of dangerous asshole we're dealing with here.
