Boca high-schooler threatens to kill Jewish students

A Spanish River High School student is banned from campus after authorities said he made threatening remarks to students this week.

Parents say the student, a senior at the Boca Raton school, asked the office staff for a photo of the senior class on Tuesday. When he received the photo, he started drawing circles around some of the students, many of whom were Jewish.

When questioned by another student, the boy said he was picking out the students he planned to kill on Friday, which is the anniversary of the Columbine shootings and Adolph Hitler's birthday.

The student has a reputation as being pro-Nazi and anti-Semitic, some students said.

That's the school our daughter is zoned to go to. This particular subject isn't the reason we home school her, but it's one of the reasons I'm happy we do.

3. It's time to rethink what we've been doing.

If that kid had lit a joint, he'd have been arrested.

Let's stop funding the war on drugs, and start paying attention to the real problems we have in this society. And not just business as usual. We need to be creative. We need to work one on one.

This punitive crap must end. People do shit for a reason. That isn't to say this kid is good. But we can't dismiss and discard. We must work with him/her.


Edit- By the way, Hitler was just this kind of person. A resentful man who couldn't get into art school. A social failure. We most likely could have avoided... well, I won't go there.

Spanish student who attends River High School? It would seem to be awkward working if the school was River High School and the student was Spanish, but I've learned not to assume.

I really am afraid that the day is coming soon when I will wake up and look on DU only to discover a massive attack like this has happened against us.
