No Bomb Found After Threat in Prince William
April 20, 2007 - 10:22am
WOODBRIDGE, Va. - Police found no bomb in a search of C.D. Hylton High School after a bomb threat was called in to the school.
The threat was not specific and came in to the school on Spriggs Road before classes started.
While Prince William County schools never advised parents to pick up their children, hundreds of parents showed up at the school Friday morning after their children called them.
Many of those students have gone home. For those who stayed, they are back in class.
As a precaution, administrators did not allow students to enter the school. The students stayed in a nearby football stadium while police searched the school. About 2,300 students attend Hylton.
The school was to hold an 8:30 a.m. ceremony to remember Daniel Alejandro Perez Cueva, 21, of Peru. He was among the victims killed at Virginia Tech. He was a sophomore majoring in international studies.
The threat also comes on the eighth anniversary of the Columbine shootings. In 1999 Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, killed 12 classmates and a teacher before killing themselves at the Colorado high school.
