Harry is militia target in Iraq, admits army
Source: The Observer

Iraqi militia groups have drawn up detailed plans to seize Prince Harry as a hostage when he arrives in Iraq next month, The Observer can reveal.

Some of the most notorious paramilitary factions in southern Iraq claim they have informants placed inside British military barracks in Iraq monitoring the third in line to the throne.

The claims call into question the Ministry of Defence's decision to allow Harry to serve in Iraq where he and his unit will be seen as a valuable target.

Last night an MoD spokesman said: 'We have not concealed the fact that he is going out there and the bad guys know that he's coming, and we expect that they will consider him a high-profile scalp.'

1. Prince Harry seems to be a brave and honorable man. I wish the best for him, and his group.

3. Oh man, if something happens to Prince Harry over there, his won't be

the only "high-profile scalp" in the news. It'll be tony blair's, too.

If ANYTHING happens to one of Diana's boys, the British people will erupt like volcanoes. The war is already deeply unpopular. And all blair will have to do is sacrifice one of the sons of the late and beloved Princess Di - and tony won't be worth a pigeon crap in Trafalgar Square. You think tony's losing sleep NOW? Just wait til Harry's regiment goes to Iraq.

5. The British and American troops will have to spend their time...
protecting Prince Harry the same way they protected McCain. They should rethink sending him to Iraq and he should also rethink it. Seems pretty stupid to me.

7. The contrast in service
between chicken-hawks Bush/Cheney/Rove/Limbaugh/Beck/Delay/Gingrich and the English Royal Family is mind blowing at times. The Royal Family gets no props over there and these chickenhawk pigs do over here. Thomas Jefferson would go on and on about how worthless royal scum is. He would turn over in his grave to see the much lower class of turds produced by our conservative corporate economy, media and voting.

9. Setting him up as an excuse to escalate the war?
Anyone else thinking that if he is captured, "Bomb, Bomb Iran" won't just be a figment of McCain's imagination?

10. Isn't Harry's presence putting his fellow soldiers
in his unit in danger? If I had a kid serving within 50 miles of Harry I'd be scared shitless and pissed off beyond belief! This seems stupid, reckless and very obvious.

11. He is a brave young man, and I am betting that he is not going to be
followed around like McCain was. The British royals have always done their part. Prince Edward in Falklands, Lord Montbatten in WWII (only to be killed by the IRA,) etcs. galore. The king and queen stayed in London during the bombing to be with their people. Queen Elizabeth was an ambulance driver among other duties. We are led by a group which knows nothing about anything, especially war. They are brave with other peoples'(meaning inhabitants of several lands, including our own) lives; they are callous scum!
