Protestors Greet President Bush With Jeers
(CBS4) KENDALL While President Bush delivered his commencement speech at Miami-Dade College on Saturday afternoon, dozens of protestors voiced their disapproval of the President's actions in Iraq.

With signs that read "Out of Iraq", Support Our Troops Impeach Bush" and Bush is a Criminal", demonstrators wanted the President to know the war in Iraq needs to end now. "I want Bush at home in Texas without any political office," said protestor Bruce Hauptli. "There is no honor in this honorary degree."

South Florida resident Beatriz Rosaval echoed his sentiment as she protested across the street from Miami-Dade College. "I think it's wrong, said Rosaval." I think we were lied into going and Saddam is out anyway. Why are we still there? I don't understand why we're still there."

1. Hmmmmm
The crimes of the administration have managed to bring forth one miracle it seems--the "mile-away" protest zones are fast disappearing in favor of on-the-site protests instead! At least that's what I sense! Go activists!!

18. Every time I see that photo, my blood boils. But the smart remark
upthread is actually pretty funny. Scornfully ironic, maybe.

5. Heh heh heh...
The description of Miami Dade College from an MSN search: "State-sponsored community college offering two-year associate's degrees through courses at several campuses as well as over the Internet...."

The dipshit got an honorary Associate's degree from a juco? Just like his BS and MBA, no doubt.

7. Dozens of protestors?
Bush protest in Kendall draws quite a crowd

<snip>

"He loved his country in 1972 when he came home from that village outside Saigon, ignoring the friends who told him not to wear his uniform. Oscar Gonzalez did not care what Vietnam War protesters thought of the job he had done.

He loves it still in 2007, wearing blue jeans and an olive-drab cap with his sergeant's insignia, leading hundreds of protesters on a march at Miami Dade College.

''I've always been very proud of my country,'' said Gonzalez, 53, one of the Veterans for Peace who marshaled Saturday's protest. ``But at this moment, I'm not.''

These are hard feelings for a Marine Corps veteran who wore the American flag into combat.

Gonzalez was among hundreds of demonstrators drawn from all pockets of South Florida culture: children and old ladies, peace drummers and bullhorn screamers, Cubans calling for an end to the travel ban, and Haitians calling for the beginning of asylum reform.

Their common cause was opposition to Bush, who turns out, after all, to be a uniter."

14. My initial thought when I read "dozens" was that it had to be in the hundreds
Most media estimates of protests against Bush are determined using fuzzy math. :eyes:

15. You know I could have sworn
You know I could have sworn on the news last night they said something "Not everyone was protesting the pResident: there were two (2) marchers who supported Bush."

I looked at my wife and she just sort of rolled her eyes!

21. Bush Commencement Visit Draws Protests
College Worked With Secret Service For Weeks

POSTED: 11:38 am EDT April 28, 2007
UPDATED: 7:06 pm EDT April 28, 2007

~snip~ This year, Bush made Miami-Dade one of three schools where he will deliver the commencement address. The others are St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pa., and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn.

The visit to Miami-Dade is only the second time Bush has made an appearance at a community college graduation.

Bush's appearance wasn't without detractors. A spokeswoman for the Miami-Dade Police Department said 16 groups contacted police with plans for protests.

Activist groups held an "unwelcoming party" for Bush in Miami on Saturday and there are several impeachment rallies set for all over south Florida, organizers said.
